One of our class was so inspired by the story we are reading that she wrote her own version. It was brilliant - full of fantastic phrases and description. Well done!

Year 3 have started a study of the book Winter's child. We have been reading the book, sharing ideas, predicting and story mapping. We will be writing our own versions of the story and inventing our own winter stories.

Year 3 predicted which event would take the longest amount of time: jogging around the playground once, answering 10 multiplication questions or doing 25 star jumps. 22 children guessed correctly - the maths questions! Jogging and star jumps were surprisingly close - only a couple of seconds apart but jogging was just longer! We used stopwatches to time the events.

First we sorted the photos into two groups: Normandy and the Southern Coast of England. We gave reasons why. Once we knew which photos were from which country, we compared the geographical features in the photographs.
